Teaser

This piece, for me at least, comes under the heading subtly kinetic.

Hence the tease. For some, only touching it will satisfy curiosity about how it may move or sound. Based on what I've seen of what the Voigt Family Sculpture Foundation has selected/collected I'm left with the impression that the aspects of play and whimsy are a strong current. This piece was conceived and built for this particular show and memorial.

This mobile hung from a magnificent oak near my studio since it came together. It was one of those pieces that nearly put itself together, where I was the "watcher". I sometimes would sit with lunch and notice its movements. A variety of animals passing through (the studio location is fairly remote) seemed to be quite leery of it. Over time, it was dubbed Watcher.
